Client Spotlight: Little Mushroom Catering

This month’s client spotlight is Little Mushroom Catering. This small business is a big inspiration! We chatted with CEO & President, Stephanie, to talk all things Little Mushroom. She's so passionate about her business, her love of food, and her commitment to coming out the other side of this pandemic. We love our clients and with a company as amazing as this, it's easy to see why!

Q. When did you start Little Mushroom Catering?

Stephanie: I started Little Mushroom in 2010 as a way to spend time with grown up, surrounded by good food and drinks.

Q. What does Little Mushroom Catering specialize in?

Stephanie: We are leaders in socially responsible and environmentally sustainable full-service event catering in Southwestern Ontario. We specialize in weddings and corporate events. We also have a dining lounge, food shoppe, and a satellite location in Kitchener at Descendants Brewery.

Q: What does your team look like?

Stephanie: We have an amazing team including around 30 chefs, cooks, dishwashers, bakers, operations & logistics managers, servers, bartenders, and wedding & event coordinators.

Q: Where do you see your business in five years?

Stephanie: We want to get back to our pre-pandemic revenues and better profits with tighter efficiencies, but I hope to see that within the next three years. Moving forward, we want to get back to focusing on full-service event catering and hosting exclusive intimate events in our dining lounge.

Q: When did you get started with Source Point Accounting?

Stephanie: I’ve used Source Point for my taxes for a few years now. We started working with Source Point for both bookkeeping and accounting around the same time we moved to our new headquarters on Sheldon Drive in Cambridge.

Q: What services do we provide to you?

Stephanie: Kathryn is our amazing contact at Source Point. She helped us apply for the Wage and Rent Subsidies since the pandemic started. She also does our month-end and makes sure I get out HST paid on time every month. Ron provides us with our year-end for the business, as well as helping me out personally with understanding what is best for my business and my family when it comes to tax time.

Q: How have we been able to help you?

Stephanie: Source Point has been an important partner in helping us see the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. We look forward to working together for many more years to come.
